STYLE NOTES ON: ZOE KRAVITZ
someone bring me a bag of popcorn while I watch Zoë Kravitz' style get even better now that she's working with Danielle Goldberg.
There are certain types of women who are collectively crowned (street style) queens by the fashion community. When we’re religiously listing the ‘cool girls’ of our street style era, the list will go as follows: Jennifer Lawrence, Dakota Johnson, Zoë Kravitz. And while the latter is not speaking to my own personal style entirely, I think we can all learn a lot from her effortlessly cool chic.
MADE BY ANDREW MUKAMAL, UPGRADED BY DANIELLE GOLDBERG
After previously working with Andrew Mukamal, Zoë Kravitz recently (just a few weeks ago!) signed with no other than Danielle Goldberg. While Zoë already had street style superstar status, Danielle is the safest guarantee to make her looks even better, and the latest press tour outfits for her new client were called a ‘masterclass of simplicity’ by The Coveteur.
This first outing in a Danielle look by Zoë kind of broke the internet and made us all dust off our gym shorts.
STYLE WORDS: SEXY, EFFORTLESS, EDGY
While doing my research on this post (picture me with a notepad and reading glasses), I came across this TikTok by Allison Bornstein and it gives a perfect explanation of Zoë’s three style words. They’re sexy, effortless, and edgy. And Danielle already did an awesome job on emphasizing them with the look pictured above.
While we’re at it, here are two perfect examples from the red carpet and a street style look on how her three style words are represented:
Left: The obvious ‘sexy’ is created by a showing bra, while her sleeves are effortlessly rolled up. Her hair breaks the look - a bun would have been the obvious choice. Instead, they went for her natural look. Right: She’s again showing a lot of skin with bare legs, the oversized shirt is almost accidental and casual, the sunglasses aren’t Wayfarers but a more modern oval pair.
Let’s dive into her style formulas that create the effortless style we all admire so much about her.
STYLE FORMULA NO. 1: VARIATIONS OF MONOCHROME + BLACK
The first outfit recipe is something we can all easily create from our own wardrobes without buying new pieces: Monochrome looks, topped off with something black. Easy, right? What makes the look is a. confidence and b. black accessories to bring it all together, like sunglasses or a bag - or shoes. And because this seems so approachable but still pleasing to the eye, it’s both effortless and chic.
And it wouldn’t be Zoe Kravitz if she didn’t take it to the next level: Think outside the box!
