SUNDAY UPDATE #7
Here is my weekly round-up. This week featuring first fall inspiration moodboards, some Ibiza outfits and new additions to the wishlist!
The past week was covered by this overwhelming after- vacation-feeling after five really nice days in Ibiza. Diving right back into work and a really big project, I tried to balance the approximately two hours I had in the evening to work out and to lay out my clothes for the next day. Aside from that, not much has happened over the past seven days.
Summer came back with sandal-and-long-pants-weather which is my favorite kind of weather BUT I suffered from severe fashion fatigue (due to the full work week) and just couldn’t be bothered to really put the effort in.
I am SO looking forward to fall and coats, blazers, boots and a fresh start.
Next week is going to be a bit rainier and colder, so this will be good!
THIS WEEK IN NUMBERS AND WORDS
FASHION CRISIS: 1 (Had a coffee / shopping date on Saturday and I always find dressing for these casual things the hardest! Plus, I had to leave at 8am and didn’T lay out my clothes the night before - massive mistake).
ITEMS SOLD: 0
ITEMS BOUGHT: 0
ITEMS ADDED TO WISHLIST: 4
FASHION MOOD: Fashion fatigue - Ibiza summer outfits vs late summer outfits in German City context just wasn’t for me.
FASHION THOUGHTS:
1. The plan is to build a fall wardrobe from scratch. For that I should probably start putting in the effort and make a plan, but life gets in the way.
2. Also, style-stalking Spanish women in Ibiza was so much fun. They have that specific style you cannot quite put your finger on - elegant but urban and then always with some elements to break up the seriousness in the look. I love to observe all the details whenever I am abroad.
THE IBIZA LOOKS
I really wanted to do an Ibiza wardrobe diary. I swear. I ended up taking pictures of only half the outfits while planning them and then also only a few pictures while I was there. Which is a sign I had a really great time but it’s not the best outcome if you want to show things in a newsletter.

WISHLIST
SHOES is a big topic in fall / winter. Where I live, there is six months of winter so you do get a lot of wear out of your boots and closed shoes. However, I love a heel on a boot but also walk a lot and need to be comfortable. I added this pair of Vagabond boots to the wishlist - hoping it will tick all the boxes.
I saw this COS coat in store three weeks ago and it is living rent free in my head ever since. It is not my color and it is very structured. BUT the cut is just perfect.
Last week I took this screenshot of Carin Falk. She tried on H&M men’s blazers and this one was so good! Maybe worth a try? In general, since I am head of oversized blazers fan club, I should shop more in the men’s department.
SPEAKING OF STARTING FALL PREPARATIONS
I have some kind of ‘getting into fall routine’ stylewise. And as I said above, I just need to find a bit of time to get into it as soon as possible.
Wardrobe switch - obviously , I need to do a big wardrobe clean and put away all my summer clothes. I need to check what I want to sell and put together a wish list.
Podcast episodes - I love to listen to a few style podcasts, especially Who What Wear, and my favorite episode to listen to again and again every fall is this Sheerluxe podcast episode featuring Lizzy Hadfield and Lindsey Holland. They talk about fall fashion with Charlotte Collins and Lu Hough in the best way. Even though the episode is a few years old, it is still so on point!
Buy September issues - I collect fashion magazines. Yes, you heard that right - I collect print magazines. When September comes around, I will buy every (international) September issue under the sun. I love the inspiration.
Reread ‘Wear It Well’ - I love Allison’s book and fall is the best opportunity to reread certain chapters and fully dive into the personal style inspiration.
Allison Bornstein styling session - I am considering to book a styling session with Allison as well in October. I did one with her in 2020 and I loved it. It is a big investment so I am still deciding if I want to put in the money or just buy another coat or pair of boots.
Watching fashion shows - I love to rewatch my favorite fashion shows for fall. It’s mostly Max Mara and Lemaire, then Tod’s and Toteme. Isabel Marant has great fall fashion shows, too.
Moodboards - also an obvious one but I love the new Pinterest app feature where you can create collages. Here are the first three I did. And please don’t think these are the last fall moodboards you’ll see on here.
LEATHER: I love a good leather jacket. It gives structure and edge and it rings in the fall season just right.
2. TRENCH COATS: There is a four-day-period for trench coats each year and I am ready for it.
3. MINIMALISM / NINETIES ELEGANCE: Pure makeup and muted colors, I am so looking forward to find my own version of quiet luxury this fall.
FASHION MOOD IN ONE PICTURE
Ready for fall is the motto of the week. So here is one look I want to wear within the next two weeks!
Thanks for reading as always. I can’t wait to set up my fall wardrobe together with you guys and love the feedback you are giving on here.
Have a great Sunday and the best start into the new week! xx
Really looking forward to your newsletters! You are so right about the four day trench coat period 😆
